Jody Acrey's Visiting to the Skyviews Restaurant

Dinner-series is usually a stressful time for RHIM (Restaurant Hotel Institutional Management) students here at Texas Tech. Nobody knows this better than RHIM graduate Jody Acrey, who is giving back to her beloved program by more than just the occasional visit to Skyviews Restaurant.
Upon graduation, Jody Acrey accepted profession with Watson-Sysco and eventually earned the title of Food Service Representative. She achieved her success by creatively applying knowledge learned from the many years of classes taken here at Texas Tech.,
Now you will find Jody face-to-face with our senior RHIM students when they sit down for their Menu Meeting with Executive Chef -Leigh Kiselis to plan their dinner. With Jody’s expertise and her trusty software from Watson-Sysco, she can instantly let the students know if the menu items and portions they are discussing are profitable. Jody provides everything from plate cost, to profit margin for the students' menus.
This extra step, and pure volunteerism on Jody Acrey’s part, is not only helping cut costs for our program, but more importantly letting the students be part of a “real-world” example of applying their classroom knowledge to create the perfect menu at the right price for their "big night". Now, not only will the food taste good, it will also be more carefully chosen based on cost, an option that was never easily attainable, we truly appreciate the Red Raider Spirit of RHIM graduate Jody Acrey!
